Mr. Wagoner is one of the most successful college Mock Trial coaches in the history of AMTA competition. In 2004, he began his first term as President of AMTA. He is an Adjunct Professor at Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky, teaching courses in trial advocacy, business law and labor law. He also coaches the school's Mock Trial Team. Bellarmine won the National Championship in 1999, and it was one of the top two teams in the country in 1987, 1991, 1994 and 1998.

Mr. Wagoner has been practicing law since 1976. He was a founding partner of Williams & Wagoner, where he practiced law from 1976-87 and 1990-2000. From 1987-90, he was a partner at Jackson & Kelly. From 2000-02, he was a solo practitioner. Since then, he has been a partner at Ferrerri & Fogle. Over the years, Mr. Wagoner has taught continuing legal education classes for state and local bar associations on Worker's Compensation and Professional Conduct and Ethics.

Mr. Wagoner earned his bachelor of arts degree at Bellarmine College and his juris doctor degree at the University of Louisville School of Law.
